Apple Watch by TrackMyGolf is a valuable tool for measuring and improving your golf tempo. Originally introduced at Apple's developer conference in June 2015, Apple's Ping tempo app was highly anticipated by golf enthusiasts. However, when it failed to materialize, TrackMyGolf took matters into their own hands and developed a comparable app.
Utilizing the accelerometer and gyroscope of your Apple Watch, this app accurately measures your swing tempo. With the ability to compete against others for the longest streak of swings with a perfect tempo, you'll be motivated to refine your technique. Additionally, the app provides detailed statistics on the percentage of slow, fast, and perfect tempo swings, allowing you to identify areas for improvement.
An optimal swing tempo has a 3:1 ratio, meaning your backswing should be three times as long as your downswing. By adhering to this ratio, you can achieve greater consistency and precision in your golf game.
If you want to take your swing analysis to the next level during real games, TrackMyGolf's golf GPS + Scorecard app is an excellent option. In addition to tracking your swing on the golf course, it offers GPS distances to over 35,000 golf courses and automatically records your shots.
Designed specifically for Watch OS3, this app features a more robust swing detection algorithm compared to previous versions. Gone are the limitations on accurate swing detection that users may have experienced in version 1.x.
In the unlikely event that a swing is not detected by the app, users can easily log the trace manually and email the support team at support@vimo.co with the time of logging. They will promptly investigate any issues.
Please note that Watch OS3 is required for this app. If the app does not appear on your watch, simply access the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, select "General->Software Update," and follow the provided instructions.
It is worth mentioning that this app seamlessly integrates with Apple HealthKit, ensuring that your golf practice sessions are accurately recorded as a golf workout.
